AI Travel Intelligence Dashboard

Sector Global Esports Operations
Format Interactive Dashboard

An operational intelligence dashboard designed for web and optimized for mobile that replaced fragmented travel security PDFs with a single, interactive dashboard built through AI-assisted rapid prototyping and deployed to AWS S3.

The Problem

The client's global esports operations team ran eight international tournaments annually, each one touching thousands of travelers: staff, vendors, athletes, and event participants. Before every event, intelligence was distributed as static PDFs and PowerPoints, pushed out through email, Slack, and WhatsApp.

The result wasn't just inconvenient. It was operationally dangerous. Travelers were reaching for stale documents in fast-moving environments, with no way to verify if what they had was current.

  • 01 Fragmented delivery across email, Slack, and WhatsApp created no single source of truth
  • 02 Version control was non-existent; travelers had no way to confirm if their PDF was current
  • 03 Static documents offered zero mobile usability during active operational periods
  • 04 Initial prototypes hosted on Gemini raised authentication and enterprise compliance concerns
  • 05 Critical emergency contacts and compliance guidance were buried in lengthy reports

The Solution

I designed and built an AI-assisted, mobile-first operational intelligence dashboard that transformed static travel security reporting into an interactive traveler support platform optimized for real-time use during international events.

The key insight: travelers in fast-moving operational environments don't read reports. They scan for answers. The dashboard was built around that truth, prioritizing immediate situational awareness over comprehensive coverage.

To resolve the hosting and authentication issues from earlier prototypes, I moved deployment to a private AWS S3 workflow, eliminating dependency on Gemini-hosted public links and removing the need for travelers to authenticate into Google environments.

  • Security and threat intelligence
  • Travel requirements and compliance guidance
  • Emergency contacts and response procedures
  • Transportation advisories
  • Geospatial risk mapping
  • Live weather · real-time currency · local time

Outcome

Intelligence delivery that actually works in the field.

  • Reduced intelligence distribution friction: one link replaced dozens of documents
  • Centralized all operational information into a single traveler interface accessible on any device
  • Improved traveler accessibility at scale across large international operational populations
  • Accelerated intelligence-to-delivery timelines from days to operational-ready outputs
  • Established a scalable, reusable framework for future global enterprise deployments

"The dashboard fundamentally changed how travel intelligence was delivered during our global events. The creativity and operational fit were exactly what we needed."

This project was featured in a company-wide newsletter as a revolutionary, first-of-its-kind operational AI implementation.

Key Takeaways
01 · AI as Force Multiplier

Gemini Canvas and AI-assisted iteration collapsed prototyping timelines. What might have taken weeks was deployable in days.

02 · Deployment Matters

Migrating from public Gemini links to private S3 wasn't just a technical footnote. It was the difference between a prototype and an enterprise product.

03 · Design for the Field

Travelers in operational environments don't read reports. They scan. Every layout decision was made for someone moving, stressed, and on a phone.

04 · Reusable Systems Win

The dashboard architecture was built to be repurposed by swapping event location and intelligence content rather than rebuilding from scratch each time.
